Dr Monica Soma Hensley

BPharm, MPhil, PhD

Monica Soma Hensley is the Instruction and Research Manager at Beyond Benign, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing green chemistry education. Her work centers on developing curricula and supporting faculty as they integrate green chemistry into their teaching. 

Outside of her role at Beyond Benign, She is actively involved in professional organizations. She currently serve as a member of the ACS Committee on Chemical Safety, as the Peer-Led Workshop Coordinator for the ACS Division of Chemical Health and Safety, and as Chair of the ACS Upper Peninsula Local Section.

She is a chemist by training with a background in chemistry education research, and She's passionate about using evidence-based approaches to support  educators in teaching green chemistry and advancing chemistry education.
